On Sunday, April 30, 2023, Lincoln Sunrise Kiwanis celebrated their 50th Anniversary at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Sunrise Kiwanis was chartered on April 26, 1973. Governor Lynda Henningsen and Lt. Governor George Cook helped us celebrate and spoke to the attendees. Certificates were presented to all attendees who have been members of Kiwanis for 20 or more years. Longest serving member is Glen Dappen who has been a member for 46 years. A proclamation congratulating Lincoln Sunrise Kiwanis on our 50th anniversary was received from Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and read to the attendees.
We meet on the Second and Fourth Thursday of each month at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, 5401 South Street, Lincoln, NE. Breakfast at 6:30 am, Program at 7:00 am

We are part of Kiwanis International, an organization serving children for over 100 years.

Sunrise Kiwanis worked at the Haymarket Grill for the Husker game on Saturday afternoon. Sometimes the weather does not cooperate and this was one of those. Had lightning in the area after 5 innings, then rain. Score was 8-1 at that point. Many fans left at that point. We were VERY busy before and during the game, which was eventually suspended until Sunday. Overall we had a great time. Just really busy which I suppose is good. 😀 Thanks to all who volunteered. ...
