As a group of 10 to 20 people we work 1 or 2 concession stands at various UNL games. Level 1 Food Handlers Permit required. Committee chair will announce the games to be worked. Sign up sheets provided weekly or send an email to the Committee Chair. This project takes between 4-6 hours per game plus travel time..
Farm City Breakfast
This is an annual event held in November at the Cotner Center. All Lincoln Kiwanis Clubs are invited to attend the breakfast. The purpose of this is to foster farm – city relationships. Each year a farm family is honored for their involvement in making a difference in their community. .
SOUP SUPPER/SILENT AUCTION
This event is held annually in February. We prepare 2 types of soups (Chili and Chicken Noodle) plus desserts. Recipes for soups provided by the club. Assist with serving soups veggies, desserts. We also have a silent auction to raise additional funds. The proceed go toward various youth programs. Locations is to be set up and cleaned up after the event. The approximate time commitment is about 3 – 4 hours.
Installation Banquet
This is an annual event to honor the out going leadership and welcome the new leadership. This event is held in September and we review all of the accomplishments that we have made in our community and the kids.
We meet at 7:00 am on the Second and Fourth Thursday's of each month at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, 5401 South St, Lincoln, NE 68506.
Sunrise Kiwanis worked at the Haymarket Grill for the Husker game on Saturday afternoon. Sometimes the weather does not cooperate and this was one of those. Had lightning in the area after 5 innings, then rain. Score was 8-1 at that point. Many fans left at that point.
